SHOPPING

The house is self-catering, and there are no grocery stores on the mountain. We suggest shopping at the large TSURUYA next to the station BEFORE you drive to the house.

The house has some light pantry staples, but please purchase anything you might need for cooking, as we cannot guarantee that we will have everything you need.

TURNING ON THE HEAT

The house has a combination of gas heaters and one pellet stove.

The pellet stove is strong enough to heat the common areas if the doors are open.

Using the pellet stove

Pellets are in the metal tin to the right of the stove. Please put pellets into the hopper by opening the top of the stove and scooping them in. Push the button on the left to turn the stove on. The middle button controls the fan. The knob controls the flame level.

Using the gas heaters

Press the on/off button. The number on the left is the desired temperature. The number on the right is the current temperature.

These heaters will turn off automatically sometimes and show a “ventilation sign” (“換気 サイン”) warning, meaning that you should wait a few minutes before turning it back on.

The “good night” (“おやすみ”) button puts the heaters on a 60-minute timer before turning them off.
