Travel to and from Atami
TRAVEL TO AND FROM ATAMI
Atami Station is served by the Tokaido Shinkansen, the Odoriko Line, and the Tokaido Line.
We find that Google Maps offers excellent directions and multiple options for getting to Ito. You can also check Navitime or Hyperdia for additional information.
From Tokyo Station or Shinagawa Station to Atami Station, there are two Tokaido Shinkansen per hour (30-35 minutes).
From Shin Osaka Station and Kyoto Station, there are also typically 2 direct Shinkansen per hour that stop in Atami (2-3 hours).
All Shinkansen and Odoriko require a special ticket, which can be purchased at most JR stations. Both non-reserved seats and reserved seats are available (during some busy travel seasons all seats might be reserve only).
Sample trip from Tokyo:
Shinkansen to Atami (30 minutes, approximately 4000 yen)
Taxi to House (10 minutes, approximately 1400 yen)
