Instructions for following along the route with the taxi driver:
- On the road to the house, when you pass by the back of the Mega Don Quijote, you are near the turn to go up to the house
- You’ll turn left to cross over the railroad tracks, following the road as it curves right for just about 15 meters (passing over the stream)
- Take the FIRST LEFT to go up the hill, along the stream (Left in Japanese is “hidari”)
- About 100 meters up the hill, you’ll see a big house on the left
- Our house is directly across the street from that house.
Most drivers know our house, so will know where to stop. You can also say “koko de ii (eee) desu” (“here is good)

If you are lost and don’t see the stairs, please check google maps to see if you are in this location:
If you are nearby but not below the stairs, you are probably at the BACK of the house. You would have just gone up a really windy unmaintained road. Just keep heading uphill until the road ends and you see a black gate. Reach over the gate to unlock it, and walk right around the house until you get to the front and see the gate.
If you are driving, please park your car as pictured.
Please drive up the hill to turn around, and then park the car facing downhill on the left side of the road on the same side of the street as the house.
Please park front of the car a few meters uphill from the stairs.
