GOOGLE MAPS/NAVIGATION NOTES:

Occasionally, google maps will show that the route 97 between Iiyama town and Madarao-Tangram area is closed. It is not closed.

Additionally, if you plan to drive to Nozawa Onsen for the day, do not take route 503, as this “shortcut” between Nozawa and Tangram/Madarao is to be avoided (roads are not cleared). Take the route through Iiyama town and head to Nozawa from there.

ENTERING THE HOUSE

Please use the path on the right of the house to enter (pink line in photo). Please enter the house through the front door.

The key is in the black box to the right of the front door. Pull down the cover and enter the code

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PARKING AND ENTERING AND EXITING THE HOUSE:

DUE TO SNOW SLIDING OFF THE HOUSE, PLEASE PARK AT LEAST 3 METERS AWAY FROM THE HOUSE.

ALSO, DO NOT STAND WITHIN 3 METERS OF THE HOUSE. IT IS BEST TO USE THE ENTRANCE ON THE RIGHT TO AVOID THE AREA WHERE SNOW ACCUMULATES IN FRONT OF THE FRONT DOOR. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY. THANK YOU!

TURNING ON THE HEAT

The house has a combination of gas heaters and one pellet stove.

The pellet stove is strong enough to heat the common areas if the doors are open.

Using the pellet stove

Pellets are in the metal tin to the right of the stove. Please put pellets into the hopper by opening the top of the stove and scooping them in. Push the button on the left to turn the stove on. The middle button controls the fan. The knob controls the flame level.
